Genuine Skincare (The Ordinary) arrived from the UK - and its cheaper from Malaysian Seller!!

I am so thrilled when I received the package that I have been waiting for over a month LOL!. Okay, it all started when I wanted to try The Ordinary Skincare after reading all the good review and saw a lot of seller in our local marketplaces sell it so cheappppp until makes me wonder..... about the authenticity of it haha.
So I began the search to find genuine 'The Ordinary' skincare to purchase and I come across one local website selling it. Of course, the price is not as cheap as you can get from the local marketplaces where you may question the authenticity.
I wanted to purchase 4 bottles in total and I was shocked to see my total amount to pay is RM362. 😅Lol.. yeah, I have my budget for skincare but you know, we girls.... when we start choosing, we wanted to choose everything 😂
Because of the high price, I keep searching for a good deal. (Sooo Malaysian) and I saw it is so much cheaper on the international website. As low as USD3!! 👀😲. Unfortunately, the first few websites that I come across do not ship to Malaysia.
Finally, I found one! Mission accomplished LOL. And they sell a lot of other branded skincare too like Aesop, Anna Sui, Cosrx, Jeffree Star, Mario Badescu, LORAC, NYX and many more far cheaper than what you can get in Malaysia online or retail.
I make my first order, exactly the same 4 bottles as I wanted to purchase from the local website. My grand total including shipping and gift box is USD45.40. (USD31.40 products + USD10 shipping + USD4 gift box) After conversion, Paypal charged me of RM195.32.
The reason why I choose to add a gift box for the first time order because I don't know how they would pack my items. Hence I thought, adding a gift box will further protect my items. Else, I would have saved another USD4 (RM20 there).
Now that I know the items were packed securely in a box, I will not add 'Gift Box' for my next order 😋
This is what I ordered:
1. The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA - Target uneven skin tone, textural irregularities and fine lines
2. The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - regulate sebum and minimise pores
3. The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Oil - Skin barrier, support healthy skin
4. The Ordinary Amino Acids + B5 - Hydration
In summary, I managed to save RM166.68 buying from Beauty Bay. You may check them out if you want to buy The Ordinary skincare or other brands. Definitely worth it. Of cause, you must be willing to wait longer. In my case 41 days to be exact. The order was placed on 15 October 2020 and I received it on 25 November 2020.
It's not that I don't want to support local seller by buying it locally, but with today economy situation and me as a single mum having 2 kids to support, I will always try to find a great deal. What is the cause of the high price of many imported products in Malaysia? Could it be an import duty? too many middlemen? small time reseller? Perhaps we should look into this issue.
Now I will start using this skincare and my next entry will be the review of it. Stay tuned!!
